Description

In addition to binding leather together, the seams also play a special role in the visual perception of the interior; they accentuate and complete the silhouette of a piece such as a seat. This decorative function is best performed by using threads of a contrasting colour with the colour of the leather.

Stitch masking compound, an indispensable tool when dyeing leather with contrasting stitching.

The quick-drying formulation, after application, forms a thin film that protects the thread from staining or pollen. The Leather Masking Fluid, can be applied any way you like, so that it only covers the seam, avoiding contact with the leather. After painting the desired area of the leather, the compound can easily be rolled away with your finger. The Leather Masking Fluid does not leave any residue and does not change the colour or texture of the threads.

Moreover, the Leather Masking Fluid not only covers the thread, but also helps to clean it.

Instructions

PRODUCT APPLICATION

Apply the Leather Masking Fluid to the seam in a fairly thick layer using a dosing bottle and spout so that the compound has a small pile, in order to ensure easy removal after drying.

If the mixture has gone over the edge of the thread, this is not a problem and is perfectly normal, you just need to collect the mixture from the edge to the center of the thread with a spatula, so that it will eventually only cover the seam.

If you apply too thin a layer of compound, it will soak into the thread and be quite problematic to remove it afterwards. Also, for easier covering and removal of the the Leather Masking Fluid, especially when working with a worn seam where the thread has already frayed, we recommend pre-cutting the seam or burning it lightly with a lighter, this will make the seam easier and more comfortable to work with.
