Description
PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY
The Leather Prep EXPERT LINE is used to remove old and worn leather coatings from leather surfaces. Leather preparations tend to age, crack and lose their performance over time, which is why it is important to remove the paint before you start your restoration work, to ensure a good result.
Often old leather looks cracked, but in most cases these cracks are in the paint layer and do not affect the leather itself.
The Leather Prep can be used to remove old, cracked paint and give your leather a fresher, softer look.
When repairing leather, removing the old coating will not only give the leather a better look, but it will also make it feel softer to the touch.
In case you do not remove the old and worn finish layer on the leather product, you will need to use more leather repair compounds to fill in the cracks in order to achieve a quality result. In addition, more the Leather Colourant and the Leather Top Coat will be required. Such repairs will cause the leather to look more like synthetic leather and will not become softer.

Instructions
LeTech Leather Prep is a professional product. It requires a specific application technique and an understanding of the product's properties.
Our LeTech ACADEMY - LeCademy+ trains you in the correct use of our professional care and restoration products, and we support you in your work.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The process of dyeing consists of several important steps that must be carefully followed in order to achieve a quality result.
The painted surface must be thoroughly cleaned of dust, dirt and foreign matter, using a professional Leather Ultimate Cleaner. In the case of deep soiling such as grease or oils, these must first be removed from the leather using the Leather Degreaser. If the leather is damaged or the paintwork is disturbed, the loose old paintwork must first be removed using the Leather Solvent Cleaner or the Leather Prep.
After thorough cleaning and preparation, the leather should be cleaned and degreased with the Leather Alcohol Cleaner, then the Leather Primer should be applied, adding the Cross Linker X 5-10% of the product.
PAINT APPLICATION
Shake the paint thoroughly before application. In order to obtain a surface with the highest decorative qualities, it is recommended to apply the paint in even and thin layers by spraying.
Pneumatic spraying with an airbrush or spray gun. The paint can be diluted with distilled water. Nozzle diameter: 0.5-1.2 mm. Pressure: 1.1-8 bar (depending on airbrush or spray gun model). Compressed air must be free from water and oil. Paint must be thoroughly mixed and passed through a 190 micron filter before application.
Application with sponge, brush or roller. The optimum viscosity allows manual application for painting on leather, touching up small spots on leather and applying basecoat.
FINISHING COAT APPLICATION
After painting leather, it is advisable to protect the surface with LeTech Leather Top Coat, adding 5-10% of the product's polyurethane fixer the Cross Linker X.
The Leather Top Coat finishes increase the resistance to abrasion and use. They are also used to give the finished leather a matte, semi-matt or glossy effect.
TOOL CLEANING
After all coatings have been applied, rinse the tools used with water and if necessary, use LeTech Leather Prep.
