The Vinyl & Leather Weld is used for repairing various damages on synthetic leather, eco leather and vinyl, when quick and invisible repairs with texture mapping are required. The product can also be used for repairing natural leather.

Description

The Vinyl & Leather Weld vinyl and plastic repair compound is heat activated and cures almost immediately with a hot-air gun or a repair iron.

By using our the Leather Grain Copier, a section of leather or vinyl can be repaired in such a way that it is identical to the surrounding areas and is invisible to the eye. Once activated and dried, the Vinyl & Leather Weld is a vinyl and plastic repair compound that exactly matches the factory material and has excellent elasticity and durability.

While it is important to note that it is well suited to vinyl and imitation leather, we recommend our the Leather Heavy Filler thick repair compound and the Leather Light Filler fluid repair compound for all leathers.

Instructions

The Vinyl & Leather Weld EXPERT LINE is a professional product that requires proper application techniques and an understanding of the product's properties.

The repair surface must be thoroughly cleaned of dust, dirt and foreign matter, with professional the Leather Ultimate Cleaner.

After thorough cleaning and preparation, the leather should be degreased using the Leather Alcohol Cleaner or the Leather Liquid Degreaser.

After that, you can begin the actual repair, which consists of several steps:

1. Try to straighten the damaged area as much as possible so that the edges of the damage are free of burrs and sharp projecting edges;
2. If you are repairing a through hole, it is important to reinforce the hole from the inside with a reinforcing cushion that will prevent the product from falling through the damage;
3. After reinforcing the repair area, fill the damaged area up to 50% with the Vinyl & Leather Weld and dry it with a blow dryer and iron to fully activate the repair compound to make it transparent;
4. Allow the surfaces to cool down completely and to accelerate this process, use the LeTech Chill-Bar. Then apply the Vinyl & Leather Weld repair compound already in the flat with the damage and apply the previously prepared texture print;
5. Warm the repair compound thoroughly through the texture and thermal paper until the compound is fully cured;
6. Allow the surface to cool down completely and then proceed to apply the Leather Colourant and the Leather Top Coat.
